Implants
This is a
wonderful new procedure that allows a dentist to permanently replace a missing tooth or
teeth by attaching the implant directly to the jaw bone. This is done by surgically
placing a metal post into the bone where the tooth is missing. After the area heals, a
false tooth, also known as a crown, can be placed on the implant.
Implants can also be used when there are no teeth present at all. In this situation, the
denture is specially made to attach to the implants. This procedure greatly improves the
stability and fit of the denture teeth.
